會議宗旨：
The Western Pacific Geophysics Meeting (WPGM) provided an opportunity for AGU members and members of the sponsoring societies in the western Pacific region, to attend a meeting that served the needs of geophysicists interested in studies in the western Pacific region. Papers on all related aspects of geophysical sciences were encouraged. The 2010 WPGM was held at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan.

註冊費補助辦法

一、申請人資格:需為本會議已接受投稿文章作者之一，且具有中華民國國籍的學生。

二、補助辦法:

  1. 每位指導教授名下可補助多名學生之註冊費。
  2. 填寫申請表格：各項欄位請覈實填寫。
  3. 申請證明文件資料：文章接受信函影本(範例)、註冊費收據正本(範例)、學生證正反面影本、申請人銀行或郵局存簿封面影本。
  4. 申請表及證明文件，請以掛號郵寄至： 10699 台北郵局第23-59號信箱 中華民國地球科學學會 秘書處 收。
  5. 申請截止日期：延展至中華民國99年7月15日止，以郵戳為憑，恕不接受其他方式，請勿逕送本學會。

三、本會議註冊費由行政院國家科學委員會贊助。

四、主辦單位保留變更及修改本申請內容之權利。

藉由2011 年2月19日的地球科學學會年度會員大會，頒發了地球科學集刊的最多引用次數獎項；引用次數乃是針對2006至2010年發表的文章所做的統計。得獎名單如下。

地球科學學會Logo
   
 
  地球科學學會 Logo 經由理監事聯席會會議討論，並且透過所有理監事成員的投票後，決定以左方圖形，做為代表學會的 Logo。其中波紋象徵海洋、三角形象徵土地、漸層平行線則象徵大氣，以此表現出地球科學的意涵。
   
   
2010年西太平洋地球物理會議 (WPGM)
   
  6月22日 ~ 25日為期4天的2010年西太平洋地球物理會議 (WPGM) 已圓滿落幕，會議成果如下：
 
此次2010年西太平洋地球物理會議 (WPGM)，論文發表總數高達1,769篇，來自全世界30個國家1,440人參與 (國內出席人數：575人、國外出席人數：865人)，為台灣地球科學界至今規模最大之學術研討會。
   
此次會議提供台灣地球科學相關領域的碩博士研究生與國外學者進行學術交流的機會。
   
今年大會特別以「全球變遷下的極端天候事件」為主題，邀請國際知名專家演講，於會議最後一天6月25日召開記者會，簡報氣候變遷、全球暖化等對人類活動的影響，進而使社會大眾能夠共同關心人類將面臨的地球環境問題。
   
本會議國外出席人數佔與會人數百分之六十以上，相信為台灣挹注不少觀光收入；也藉由順道觀光，讓外國賓客體驗台灣之美，提升台灣在國際上知名度，並可由這些國外參加人士宣傳台灣之美；同時外國遊客來台參訪，刺激消費促進當地經濟發展。此次會議的後兩天，大會現場安排陽明山國家公園野外地質旅行 (Field trip)；實際地質參訪行程，也增加國內外地球科學領域學者相互交流的機會。

2010 AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco
